Philadelphia Dining

Truffle Edamame Dumplings at Buddakan

A Guide to Good Eating

In this post, I will be outlining some of my favorite Philadelphia spots to dine- from trendy brunch places to stellar dinners.

As a visitor or resident of Philadelphia, you must try the Stephen Starr Restaurants. I have had the pleasure of trying Buddakan (pictured above), Parc, The Continental, KPod (brand new spot!), El Vez, and The Dandelion this past year, and all exceeded my expectations. What I love about the Stephen Starr Restaurant Group is the variety of cuisines included. You can try asian fusion, American, Japanese, Mexican, and more! You can also dine at a Stephen Starr restaurant in other places outside of Philly. (Side note: a gift card for this restaurant group makes an excellent gift that would definitely be put to good use!)

Some of my other favorite finds in Philly include Walnut Street Cafe, Louie Louie, Renata’s Kitchen, and White Dog Cafe- all of which offer delicious brunch and happy hour menus! If you are a student in University City like me, these restaurants are convenient spots to dine with friends or family visiting.

If you are headed into Rittenhouse Square, you should definitely check out the idyllic Israeli cafe, Kfar. Middle Child is also a popular spot known for their incredible breakfast sandwiches. For dinner, Sampan is truly a must-try! This Pan-Asian restaurant is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with friends. I also recently went to Harp & Crown, which has a wide-selection of trendy dishes from different cuisines including rigatoni, cheesesteak egg rolls, pizza, sushi, and more.

As a taco enthusiast, I’m on a constant search for a good taco. During my time in Philly thus far, I have very much enjoyed Distrito, Rosy’s Taco Bar, and El Vez! All three have a very fun atmosphere that I would definitely recommend to try with friends.

Some other highly recommended spots that are on my list to try:
